Is the actual game how Mythic advertised it would be?
I was quite surprised to see that 82% of VN folks don’t think that WAR is delivering on what Mythic advertised the game would be. Forums will have their share of trolls, VN especially, but I doubt 82% of the people who chat on the WAR forum are dead-set against WAR. Actually, I would imagine the majority of people chatting on the WAR forum to be somewhat-happily paying/playing customers. I personally would have to vote ‘No’ on this poll as well, but I don’t put the blame entirely on Mythic. I think the good intentions are there but players aren’t acting accordingly. This game is heavily population-dependant and many of the servers have been very low pop up until recently, so people couldn’t experience the game as it was meant to be played. If “WAR is Everywhere” was the game’s tagline and you only experienced Warhammer Online on a low-population server, well, obviously the game wasn’t going to be delivering on its promises. As another example, the unintended popularity of scenarios also took people away from the game’s core feature of Open RvR. Part of this was Mythic’s fault but some of the responsibility lies with players as well. Rather than being stubborn and sticking with their low-population choice they could have voluntarily rerolled on a better server a week or two later. They could have also have chosen to do more Open RvR than scenarios, but because they were greedy for “teh max reward,” that’s where they funneled. Just for fun, here’s our own poll asking you, our readers, the very same question (scripts must be enabled). Please explain your choice at thegreenskin.com. |
